Only a few months of launch has taken over the seven-SEAT several trophy in Portugal, Germany and Great Britain, where this year, What Car? MPV in their name.
“With a clever seven-seat interior and a large boot, the SEAT Alhambra is all the MPV you’ll ever need!As our careful deliberations revealed, the car is spacious and practical inside, and thanks to a range of Volkswagen-sourced engines it’s incredibly fuel-efficient. All diesel engines are equipped with Stop/Start systems, which cut the engine when the vehicle is stationary to save fuel.,” explains Carbuyer editor Dan Strong.
In the UK, it is available in four trim levels and a choice of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. All engines can be paired with either six-speed manual or DSG auto, which offers the extra flexibility of sequential manual operation via the standard steering wheel-mounted paddle shifts.
Standard equipment includes sliding rear doors (optionally available with electric operation), fuel-saving Stop/Start and Brake Energy Recovery systems, integrated Bluetooth hands-free phone connection, three-zone climate control and front and rear parking sensors.
Dan Strong presented the award to SEAT President James Muir and SEAT UK Managing Director Peter Wyhinny at the recent Geneva Motor Show.
