Toyota Verso-S - Return of the Toyota mini-MPV
Below about Toyota Verso-S.
Previous iterations are sold in the UK - it sold only in Japan MK2 - repeatedly over 10,000 sales here. With Verso-S now has to fight against competition from the likes of Honda, Skoda and Vauxhall, the market has been much more difficult for Toyota when he left. And with the variety of retail dearest to £ 16 895, not the cheapest of the good little cabal.
Many employees live in the Fens CAR ironing board flat. The bad news for Toyota? Road Test Back-S was given to a correspondent who lived at the bottom of a hill in north London - as if there was an automatic thing CVT Our model came with did not like, so that the gradient.
Check up Mill Hill (a little over 400 meters, so as not to Scafell Pike) is a horrible experience. Sounds like every cell, each subdivision of the minutes of the capacity of 1.33 liter gasoline engine that is tense. The same is true for (all) the rapid acceleration of the toll road. Does the engine wailing banshee scream in pain or you are just as artic Dentressangle 10-wheel weighs on your back? Yes, once S Verso has compressed the way to highway speeds, it is very comfortable sitting there, but you have an option of the question - if you called that - one, seems to be less energetic, machine "options".

The Peugeot 5008
Below about Peugeot 5008.
Do you remember how you felt when you met your first love? You get an increase can be explained on the heart rate while your palms sweatier and you get more nervous.
Voice perfectly so far. You get the same feeling sometimes when driving a car key.
But when you get behind the wheel of a Peugeot 5008, although it seems odd to tell people about it. The fact is, 5008 is not an asphalt swallowing beasts. This is only a means seven-seater MPV.
Not exactly how you're going to rounding. 5008, but, surprisingly, left a deep impression on me - no pets or performance gaps.
First, the substance. Calls will be easily visible and the best all other MPVs. Gone are the face, wide smile and find the Peugeot in place, the more tense and tender package that would sit better with people conservatives. Hopefully this new look will remain.
A touch of chrome on the bottom of the window is somehow well with Kink for the good of the end. There. With the lights front and rear ends extending into the profile and crisp, MPV looks very neat on the street. Chic and different.
The seats play up the family-friendly competency. The seven seats allow for different configurations and are very easy to adjust, I found. The second row can be individually slided or reclined while the third row can be folded flat.
Storage space is also plentiful. I can imagine parents storing their kids' colouring books and pencils in the compartments under the floor. Be flexible and you can get up to 2506 litres of luggage space.
The luxury line of the 5008 ($3,000 more expensive than the standard) also has a sunroof, which I would usually dismiss in most vehicles. It's rather pointless to have one in sunny Singapore, more so when the sunroof isn't tinted and the sunshade doesn't work. But in the Peugeot, it is and thus, charms me over. With a wide windscreen that lets in plenty of light, a cheery interior results.
The 5008 has an added touch: a child rearview mirror attached above the rearview mirror. It's probably relatively negligible in cost for Peugeot to install one as standard but breathe in the entire package -- the roomy interior, storage space, flexible seats -- and the entire package comes together. Solid substance.
Then, performance.
MPVs usually languish as you roll off the starting line. They're in no hurry. Compared with the herd, the 5008 feels briskier, most probably attributed to the twin-scrolled, 156-horsepower engine. At 1,780rpm, you're already up by 240Nm of torque.
Dialing in higher gears is easily done with a six-speed automatic transmission but it fumbles a little at lower gears.
Be surprised a second time as the 5008's drive is perky and lush. The 5008 turns into corners nicely without any unwieldiness. A little rolling and pitching however, can be expected if you ask too much of it.

High-end Ford C-MAX Titanium MPV is the UK's best value in Parker.

"When it comes to the value of Ford C-MAX scores highly. 1.6-liter diesel performance and 61mpg combined fuel consumption is not synonymous with frequent travel to the gas pump.

Kia MPV KV7 Concept
Below about Kia MPV KV7 Concept.
The Kia Soul, that boxy small machine loved by hamsters, was the automakers first step to a real design language, a term tossed around by Japanese companies like Mazda. The KV7 takes most of its cues from the Soul that was shown in 2007 as a concept vehicle. That being said, this new machine is larger than the Soul and appears to be a shrunken Ford Flex with gullwing doors.
It’s clear that this new Kia is an attempt to revolutionize the van industry. Many companies have attempted this by making the van less van like, and by this we mean more curvaceous. Kia has gone in the opposite direction, just as they did with the Soul and have created a box on wheels with retro design cues for the 2011 Detroit Auto Show. Like the Soul concept, the KV7 features a rounded hood and flared fenders. The front of the vehicle features the same grille and headlights as the 2011 Optima. Of course, being a concept, the headlights have been hidden with black accents surrounded by aluminum bits.
The more interesting aspects of the KV7’s exterior are the doors, as the fronts are suicide and the rear doors are gullwing. These bits will likely be removed if this model ever sees the production lines, but they are great fun to admit on the showroom floor. The interior of the KV7 is pure fantasy, with four rotating captain’s chairs, meaning that every person in the vehicle can face each other, although we wouldn’t recommend this for the driver if the vehicle is moving. When stopped, the car can become a lounge with WiFi and an onboard rear tabletop-video display. So, if you can’t find a good restaurant in the middle of Akron, Ohio – and believe us that will happen – just pull over and connect to the web to find one.

MPV Award: Scenic Wins
Today article about Scenic wins the MPV Award.
Renault Scenic MPV has begun to show its age, as the current model dates back to 2003, but still a strong demand for vehicles in the United Kingdom. The French manufacturer was tortured to another trophy to the ever increasing cases of awards, this time from Carbuyer.co.uk.
Award for 'Best MPV' based on various criteria, and the ownership of products, including convenience, the purchase and maintenance costs, as well as style. As part of the website offering the award, Managing Director of Renault UK, Thierry Sybord, received the award at the Geneva Motor Show 2011.
“I’m delighted to be accepting this latest award for our best-selling MPV. Our third-generation Scenic possesses all of the traits which have lead to its multiple award wins over the years, and just as importantly, real-world plaudits from all kinds of owners, thanks to its impressive comfort, fuel economy, practicality, reliability and safety levels,” Sybord commented.
“It’s the car that started the compact MPV revolution – and it’s still leading from the front. Our panel of experts all agreed - the Renault Scenic offers fantastic value for money and is designed to take whatever family life can throw at it. The hard-wearing interior is comfortable and well equipped, while a range of new diesel engines, including the excellent 1.5-liter dCi offer good fuel economy and impressive performance,” said Dan Strong, CarBuyer’s Editor.
The Scenic was subtlety improved upon in 2010, boasting high-quality materials and body-panel fit-and-finish and mode efficient engines. The revised range includes three new engines: 1.4 TCe 130, 2.0 VVT 140 CVT and 2.0 dCi 160 FAP. But the small MVP relies on no less than eight powerplants with maximum outputs ranging between 85 and 160 hp.

There is a fine foot 16-spoke polished alloy wheels 8 J x 19, while trimming the high-gloss chrome exterior mirror housings and side skirts and chrome on the front bumper and chrome on the rear tailgate with a particular focus style. Model is available in obsidian black metallic options or brilliant silver.
Selected equipment and appointments, sporty ambience
The stylish look continues in the interior: the driver and front passenger will feel at home on seats that are as comfortable as they are sporty, featuring the finest leather cover with a piping design, plus increased lateral support. Customers can choose from “Lugano” leather or the new exclusive “Twin DINAMICA” microfibre surface. The cockpit is equally impressive, with its white scale illumination for the instruments, and sports pedals in brushed stainless steel with rubber studs. The decorative strips have a black or brown burr-walnut look.
There are four individual seats for the passengers in the rear and these also feature leather covers with a piping design, and are both stylish and comfortable. These seats, too, boast special padding with increased lateral support. The inserts in the side trim panels are also in leather, whilst the decorative strips sport a burr-walnut look. The individual seats mounted on rails can be moved in 25-mm steps and include integral three-point seat belts, height-adjustable head restraints and adjustable armrests.
Dynamic V6 engines, specially tuned sports suspension
The dynamic drive system featuring V6 engines from Mercedes-Benz is the perfect match for the Viano Avantgarde Edition 125’s sporty appearance. The units are unique in this vehicle class: the V6 CDI 3.0 with an output of 165 kW (224 hp) and its extraordinary traction of 440 Nm combines power with consideration for the environment. BlueEFFICIENCY technology reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions to a surprisingly low level, with fuel consumption in accordance with the NEDC amounting to a mere 8.5-8.6 l/100 km or 224-226 CO2 (g/km) – a very respectable figure in view of the vehicle size and performance. The V6 petrol engine which is available as an alternative has a displacement of 3.5 l and achieves 190 kW (258 hp), blending its torquey temperament with extremely smooth running characteristics.
Performance reaches a unique level in both variants. The V6 CDI 3.0 accelerates to 100 km/h in only 9.1 s and achieves a top speed of 201 km/h. For the V6 3.5 the figures are 10.4 s and 217 km/h.
Power transmission to the rear axle is via an automatic transmission. The Viano was already characterised by its high degree of handling safety and comfortable suspension, and it has now been particularly sportily tuned especially for the Edition 125 of its Avantgarde model, meeting the most discerning of standards when it comes to driving dynamics.
The Edition 125 of the Mercedes-Benz Viano Avantgarde is available from the spring in two different lengths: “compact” and “long”.

Hyundai - New Slicker C-MPV
Below about Hyundai's new MPV.
Remember, succulent Hyundai Trajet? E-process is replaced by a new compact MPV with a spark, which shows the latest Hyundai - 2008 and be inspired by the concept car HED-5, apparently.
Word is the new Hyundai will be launched late 2011, when the name tag will probably make a new gen Hyundai i55, anyone? And see that the curved window line. While we can not be 100% sure that is not part of the hide, it seems that the new MPV will be the Korean clunky Matrix left, more ups and downs of elevator in Manhattan.
The HED-5 concept car was shown at the 2008 Geneva motor show. It saw Hyundai collaborate with a large number of third parties: electronics giant LG turned the concept into a digital theatre with web access and video games galore, while paint specialist Bayer MaterialScience created self-healing paint that's resistant to stone chips.
That show car packed a new turbodiesel engine, packing 2200cc, twin turbos and a wholesome 212bhp and 307lb ft.
Inside the new Hyundai MPV
Our spies have scooped the first look inside the C-MPV, which will be aimed at the Zafira and Scenic set. There's a classy angled centre stack, heavily cowled instrument clusters in an Alfa Romeo style and – intriguingly – two different coloured front seats, burgundy for the driver and grey for the passenger. We presume that's just a development hack wheeze.
The new C-MPV is due in late 2011, but first up is Hyundai's take on the Venga – the B-MPV due for launch in November 2010.

Toyota Alphard Luxury MPV
It's about Toyota Alphard.
The Toyota Alphard is a luxury MPV produced by the Japanese automaker Toyota since 2002. It is available as a seven or eight-seater with 2.4 and 3.0-litre gasoline engines in 3 different model lines - Alphard G, Alphard V and Alphard Hybrid. The Alphard is primarily made for the Japanese market, but is also sold in Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Bahrain,[2] and Malaysia. The vehicle was named after the Alphard, the brightest star in the constellation Hydra.
Toyota states its "E-Four electric 4WD system that regulates a rear-mounted, rear-wheel-propelling electric motor and coordinates electric power distribution to all four wheels. An ECB (Electrically Controlled Brake system) provides efficient wheel-by-wheel brake control."
The full-size Alphard Hybrid MPV qualifies as an Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle (ULEV), achieving levels 75% lower emissions than the Japanese government's 2000 benchmark. The 2.4-litre gasoline engine has been developed specifically for use in Toyota's hybrid systems and features a high-expansion ratio cycle that raises efficiency and reduces friction.
In 2006, a Royal Lounge Alphard was introduced. It is a luxurious, four-seat version of the Alphard. Its traditional competitor from Nissan is the Elgrand.
The Alphard Hybrid uses "by-wire" technology that monitors brake pedal pressure and vehicle speed in order to calculate the optimum hydraulic pressure. By-wire works with the E-Four to maximize the collection of kinetic energy from braking for conversion into electric power.
The Alphard Hybrid Minivan can generate up to 1,500 watts and is equipped with standard 100-volt AC power outlets, allowing a wide range of appliances to be used, such as laptops and emergency lights. The electrical outlets can also be used to recharge items such as power-assisted bicycles and electric carts, adding a new dimension to leisure activities.
The Alphard Hybrid also offers some advanced safety features not seen on other hybrids. In fact, standard on the "G edition" and optional on standard grades are ( with a G-BOOK compatible DVD voice navigation system):
* Blind Corner Monitor, which indicates the approach of other vehicles or pedestrians from the left and right
* Back Guide Monitor with a color CCD camera and voice-guidance function, which uses signals from a steering sensor to calculate the likely reverse path during reversing and display it on the monitor screen
* Lane-monitoring system that uses images from the Back Guide Monitor camera to measure the lateral distance to white or yellow lines on major highways and triggers an alarm when the distance falls below a pre-set level
* Radar Cruise Control, which uses laser radar sensors and steering sensors to keep track of the vehicle's lane and any preceding vehicle and ensures that a safe distance is maintained in accordance with vehicle speed.

Ford B-Max impresses in Geneva
These about Ford B-Max.
Ford's small B-Max MPV is wowing visitors to the Geneva Motor Show with two big innovations that are bound to worry competitors with less adventurous designs.
The first and most obvious of these is the elimination of the new car's so-called B-pillars, the structural element that divides the front and rear door openings on most cars. This change gives exceptional ease of access, especially to the rear seats; for good measure the rear doors are of the convenient sliding type. Normally, the B-pillar plays an important part in the structural integrity of a car, but Ford says it has built the required stiffness and crash resistance into the doors themselves, creating a “virtual B-pillar”. The only competing product with anything like as innovative a set-up is the Vauxhall Meriva which has rear-hinged rear side doors. With an overall length of just over four metres, though, the B-Max does take up a little bit more room than Toyota's new, very space-efficient but much more conventional Verso-S.
The second innovation is less visibly obvious but no less significant – a new three-cylinder 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, an addition to Ford's range of EcoBoost power units. The EcoBoost range involves capacity downsizing and measures such as turbocharging and stop-start technology in order to improve performance, economy and emissions. If the new engine is as good as the existing 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre EcoBoost engines fitted to Ford's larger cars, the B-Max should be very competitive indeed.
One final point of interest - the B-Max will be the first Ford to be built in Romania. Car production in that country has previously been focused mainly on the Renault-derived Dacia range.

7 seat MPV on new Fiesta platform
Today's article about new Fiesta MPV.
About three years from now, Ford is expected to build a seven seater on the new Fiesta platform. This could be a stretched version of the B-Max MPV, put on display in Geneva this year.
Ford’s energy isn’t divided. It wants to work on the Fiesta platform to produce all kinds of body styles. The first derivative will be the sedan model in June-July this year and the second could be the hatchback for 2012. The third offspring will be a mini SUV touted to replace the EcoSport SUV in South America and take trips to other developing markets. The fourth model on this platform will be what we are talking about here – A seven seat MPV with Ford’s kinetic design touches.
The vehicle will look extended and out of shape if it were designed by any regular car manufacturer. But not Ford. They will ensure that it breaks the mold of MPVs being a boring object on wheels.
Indians are not going to embrace MPVs with open arms. For them, the Innova is the definition of a MPV. Vehicles like Tavera and Xylo are very good substitutes but they have not been successful in toppling the Innova.
Under the hood we will see a big four-cylinder diesel engine, displacing about two-liters. Most of the parts will be shared between the Fiesta sedan. Ford will need to go aggressive with the pricing, but that’s not a proven way to sell a MPV in India as Mahindra found out with the Xylo.
The brand value of Ford is greater than a Mahindra. Hence if Ford can price the 7 seater cleverly and give plenty of variants including ones for the taxi market like Mahindra has done, this could make a good case for itself.
The MPV market is a highly sought after space. Besides upgrading the Tavera, General Motors will bring a new MPV this year. Nissan plans to sell the NV200 in this segment. Maruti will debut the R3 MPV at the Auto Expo. Likewise, Volkswagen could be mulling a low-cost passenger carrier.

Space Race Wins By Toyota Verso-S
These about Toyota Verso-S wins the space race.
Toyota Ireland has launched its new small MPV in Ireland with an entry level price of €16,995.
The Verso-S is the successor to the Yaris Verso, which has not been sold in Europe since 2005.
In total there are 925 old Yaris Versos on Irish roads, including more than 500 that qualify for the current Government car scrappage scheme. The B-Segment MPV market currently accounts for 1.7 per cent of overall Irish car sales, with the Hyundai iX20 being the market leader for the year to date.
To avoid any confusion, the new Verso-S should be distinguished from the bigger Corolla-derived Verso. It is a smaller brother and is based on a new platform developed for a new Yaris hatchback due here in 2012.
The new Verso-S is powered by the familiar (also in the Auris and Corolla) 1.33 petrol engine which is in the B CO2 tax bracket here in manual gearbox form, while a CVT automatic variant puts it in Band A, but carries a premium of €1,200.
The 1.4 diesel option is not available in right hand drive and the stop/start will not be available here because it does not change the tax rating.
When it comes to size, Toyota says the new Verso-S is the smallest of the market’s mini-MPVs on the outside, but clever design and packaging ensures the space on offer inside is close to what you will find in a compact family hatchback. And while the generous and flexible loadspace makes it very practical, it is smart looking too.
The rear seats are divided 60:40 and have a simple one-touch flat-fold mechanism. Verso-S makes life even easier by providing additional control levers to fold the seats down on each side of the boot space – a feature not found on any of its mini-MPV rivals.
Around the cabin there are 19 separate storage points, including door pockets, bottle and cupholders, a tray beneath the front passenger seat, and a three-level dashboard compartment.
In Ireland it is being offered in three grades, Terra, Luna and Sol. The last includes a full length panoramic sunroof. However, while the Terra and Luna get a temporary spare wheel, the Sol has just a puncture repair kit. I figure this is to compensate for the extra weight of the large sunroof.
Also watch out for the Toyota Touch. It is the first multi-media system in a B-Segment MPV. And Toyota Ireland says it will be rolled out across the range when new models are introduced. It is not available as an aftersales option fit.
The Verso-S has a great driving position and powers along well. One downside - in very stormy conditions on one of the drives, the higher Verso-S with the lighter modern body was not so enjoyable. Other than that, it proved a stylish and functional mini-MPV that gets the job done like all Toyotas. The company hopes to sell 200 this year, rising to 400 in 2011. And I bet they will.

Prius+ Seven-seater Hybrid MPV On Sale in 2012
Today's article about Hybrid MPV.
Toyota has loaded up the Prius! The latest member of the Prius hybrid family is called the Prius+, and it will be Europe’s first seven-seat hybrid MPV when it goes on sale here early next year.
Taking the Prius hatchback as its base, Toyota has designed a bespoke MPV body from the ground up. Optimised aerodynamics mean a relatively low drag cooefficient of 0.29Cd, while design features include a panoramic sunroof, intricate tail-light clusters and sharp-edged bumpers.
On the inside, the Prius+ gets two seats up front, three independent, split-folding second row seats and a 50:50 split-folding third row.
The Prius+ uses the latest generation of Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy drivertrain, and includes lithium-ion batteries, instead of nickel metal hydride units for the first time in a non-plug-in hybrid Toyota. The smaller size of the batteries allows for more space inside.

Chevrolet Orlando Coming to Malaysia
Here's article about Chevrolet Orlando.
Naza Quest Sdn Bhd, part of the Naza Group that is the main distributor of Chevrolet models in Malaysia, will be launching the new Chevrolet Orlando sometime in the second half of this year. This will be the first all-new Chevrolet brought by Naza Quest into the country.
After its big debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the Orlando is a seven-seater MPV based on the same front-wheel-drive Delta platform as the Cruze sedan went on sale across the European market early this year.
The Orlando could arrive in Malaysia powered by a either a 1.8-liter petrol that develops 141 hp or the 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine that has an output of 130 hp or 163 hp. While Naza Quest has not revealed the engine coming in the next half of the year, the 1.8-liter looks set to make it to showrooms as it is already available on a lot of Chevrolets in the country.

All models available in Europe come as standard with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), air conditioning, electric windows and mirrors, six airbags and three 12V power sockets. Highlights of the mid-priced LT trim level include rear parking sensors, climate control and an upgraded stereo while the range topping LTZ includes 17-inch alloys, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers and power-folding door mirrors. Seeing as the car will arrive in the Asian market as an import, we expect most if not all these features to be available.
The Orlando is a family car that combines a seven seat configuration with generous boot space. The two back rows of seats can be folded independently or together to make a completely flat, cavernous load area.

New Toyota Verso-S
Article about new Toyota Verso-S.
The new Toyota Verso-S has been announced - and it may impress green car finance seekers.
Individuals keen to reduce their carbon footprint and become more eco-friendly might be particularly interested in the model as it delivers "the lowest CO2 emissions and best fuel economy in the mini-MPV segment".
This is due to its 1.33-litre VVT-i petrol engine and when matched with a six-speed transmission the vehicle is able to deliver 127 g/km of CO2 on the combined cycle, as well as achieve a fuel economy of 51.4 mpg.
What's more, it can even manage emissions of just 120 g/km of CO2 thanks to the higher efficiency of the Multidrive S CVT.
The motor is on sale now with a starting price of £13,995 for the TR model.
Earlier this month, the manufacturer revealed its Toyota EV prototype model is set to be presented at the Geneva Motor Show.
