MPV overturn near Temerloh cause three were killed.
TEMERLOH, May 31 (Bernama) -- Three Indonesians were killed while 10 others were hurt, including seven with serious injuries, when a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) they were travelling in skidded and overturned before it was hit by an oncoming car at Km128.1 of the East Coast Highway near Temerloh here today.
Temerloh police chief ACP Ahmad Fadzillah Mohamed said the MPV was from Kuala Lumpur and heading towards Kuantan when its driver was believed to have lost control of the wheel, causing the vehicle to skid at about 6.40pm.
He said the MPV driven by a local was ferrying 13 Indonesians.
The dead were identified as Fauzi Umur, 30, Samumur, 27, dan Saat Adim, 37. All three of them died at the scene.
The seven injured, all Indonesians, were sent to the Sultan Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh .
Ahmad Fadzillah said the driver of the car involved in the accident escaped with only minor injuries.
He said all the Indonesians travelling in the MPV had valid documents and were said to be plantation workers on their way to a plantation in Terengganu.
The accident caused a 2km traffic jam.
